Antonia Feola started her scientific career in 2010 as a Master student in Migliaccio's laboratory at University of Campania “Vanvitelli” (Italy). In 2015, she obtained her PhD in molecular Pathology and Physiopathology at the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy), under the supervision of Prof. Porcellini A., for defining the role of Lysine Specific Demethylase, in estrogen-dependent transcription regulation. As a PhD, she joyed the Center for Integrative Genomics, at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) headed by Prof. Dion V., an expert in chromatin remodeling enzymes involved in the repair of deleterious DNA double-strand breaks. During postdoc, she focused in the development and characterization of specific biomarkers for the prediction response or resistance to hormone therapy in breast and prostate cancer, visiting the Giordano’s lab at the Department of Biology, Temple University (USA) thanks to EFDS Travel Fellowships. She became GMP-Qualified Operator at the Stem Cell Laboratory and Biobank - Hospital Santa Maria di Terni in 2016 for AIFA-approved Neural Stem Cells production in Clinical Trial under Scientific Director Prof. Vescovi A. She became Researcher at the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy) in July of 2019. Her lab has made key contributions towards the understanding of epigenetic and gene expression changes not only during carcinogenesis and hormone-dependent cancers but even in the evolution of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular Huntington Disease, which remain without a real cure.
