Prof. Alessandro de Sire is Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Department of Life Sciences, Health, and Health Professions at Link Campus University in Rome.

He atteined a Single Cycle Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery with a grade of 110/110 with honors at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, a Specialist Degree in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine with a grade of 50/50 with honors from the “Luigi Vanvitelli” University of Campania in Naples, and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation from Charles University in Prague. In addition, during his training, he attended the “Principles and Practice of Clinical Research Course” at Harvard Medical School in Boston and served as a visiting researcher at the “Service of Bone Diseases” at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève in Geneva.

Previously, he held academic positions as a Research Fellow in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Università del Piemonte Orientale in Novara from 2019 to 2021 and as an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the “Magna Graecia” University of Catanzaro from 2021 to 2026. Internationally, he has served as a visiting professor at Complutense University of Madrid, Koc University in Istanbul, Charles University in Prague, and NYU Langone in New York. Furthermore, in 2022, he attained the National Academic Qualification for the position of Full Professor in the SC 06/F4 category—SSD MEDS-19/B—Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

He authored books, numerous chapters, guidelines/recommendations, and over 370 indexed, high-impact scientific publications in international journals, with an H-index of 47 on Scopus; He holds positions at international scientific journals, including Associate Editor of the “Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation” and Editorial Board Member of the “European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine” and the “Annals of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.” He is a National Council Member of Italian scientific societies (SIMFER, OrtoMed, and GUIDA) and serves as the Italian Delegate for the international societies ESPRM and UEMS PRM. He has been a speaker at over 100 national and international conferences. He is the recipient of numerous scientific awards, ranks among the top 2% of the world’s scientists according to the international ranking compiled by Stanford University (USA) every year since 2022, and was honored by the ISPRM as the World’s Best Early-Career Researcher in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.

At the “Magna Graecia” University, Catanzaro, Prof. Alessandro de Sire served as a member of the Academic Senate, a member of the School of Medicine and Surgery Council, Chair of the Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences for Health Professions, and Director of five editions of the Second-Level Master in Musculoskeletal Pain Therapy, member of the Doctoral Committee, and held teaching positions in the degree courses in Medicine and Surgery, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences for Health Professions, and Health Care, as well as in postgraduate specialization programs and master’s programs, serving as an advisor/supervisor for over 200 dissertation projects.

Furthermore, from 2018 to 2021, he provided clinical care as a Level I Medical Director and Head of the “Osteoporosis Management, Identification, and Clinical and Rehabilitative Management of Patients with Fragility Fractures and Vitamin D Deficiency” at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit of the “Mons. Luigi Novarese” Center for Recovery and Functional Rehabilitation in Moncrivello, Vercelli, and from 2021 to 2026 as a Level I Medical Director and Head of the “Interventional Physical Medicine” Outpatient Clinic at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the “Renato Dulbecco” University Hospital in Catanzaro.

His scientific research and clinical practice focus on the treatment of musculoskeletal pain (neck pain, low back pain, osteoarthritis) using ultrasound-guided injections and oxygen-ozone therapy, as well as on the treatment of frail patients with osteoporosis and sarcopenia who suffer from fibromyalgia and temporomandibular disorders.
