Antonella Farina is Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions at Link Campus University, Rome. She graduated in Biology (old system) and attained her PhD in Experimental Medicine and her specialisation in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
She is qualified as an Associate Professor in the fields of General and Clinical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Molecular Biology and Microbiology, Prof. Farina has also held the position of Head Biologist at private analysis laboratories.
As a Fixed-Term Researcher (RTD and RTD-A), she taught at La Sapienza University in Rome and at the University Centre in Rieti, in various degree courses related to the Healthcare Professions.
She conducted research at prestigious national and international institutions, including Boston University, Harvard Medical School, Yale School of Medicine and Cancer Research UK, coordinating and participating in numerous competitive research projects at national and international level, obtaining various grants. For over twenty-five years, her scientific work has focused on the fields of oncological virology, immunopathology and, more recently, clinical diagnostics, with particular attention to the study of innovative biomarkers for cancer diagnosis. She authored scientific papers presented at international conferences and is a reviewer and guest editor for indexed scientific journals. Alongside her research activities, she is heavily involved in university teaching and training in the fields of clinical pathology, microbiology and laboratory diagnostics, contributing to the training of students, healthcare professionals and young researchers.
OFFICE HOURS
The professor is available to receive the students at the end of the lessons. However, the students may also request an appointment by email.
