Domitilla Mandatori is Associate Professor of Cellular and Applied Biology at Link Campus University.

She earned her PhD in Biomolecular and Pharmaceutical Sciences and her postgraduate specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology at the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti–Pescara, where she conducted most of her scientific activity and previously served as Researcher in Cellular and Applied Biology.

Her research focuses on applied biotechnology and regenerative medicine, with particular emphasis on the development of bioengineered natural scaffolds, advanced three-dimensional cell culture systems, and in vitro and ex vivo models of ocular and metabolic diseases.

She has established multidisciplinary collaborations with leading national and international research institutions and industrial partners in ophthalmology, tissue engineering, and precision medicine.

Her scientific output includes 36 peer-reviewed publications, predominantly in Q1 journals, and two patents related to ophthalmic drug delivery and the isolation of cells derived from perinatal tissues.

She is also co-founder and Head of Research and Development of FlowForLife Lab S.r.l., a spin-off company of the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti–Pescara. 

As Principal Investigator, she was awarded the Roche Foundation Grant 2024 for the “miRNA-GDRisk” project, which investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying the risk of gestational diabetes-associated diabetic retinopathy.
