Chiara Pero attained the bachelor's and master's degrees (with honors) in Computer Science at the University of Salerno in 2016 and 2018, respectively. In 2023, she attained her PhD in Computer Science with an Excellent rating, discussing a dissertation titled “Behavioral Biometrics in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.”
After working as a research fellow, she held the position of Fixed-Term Researcher Type A (RTDA) at the Department of Business Sciences - Management & Innovation Systems (DISA-MIS) at the University of Salerno from 2023 to 2025. Since November 2025, she has been a Tenure Track Fixed-Term Researcher (RTT) at the Department of Human Sciences at Link Campus University (sector INFO-01/A). In the same year, she obtained the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the position of Associate Professor in the Competition Sector 01/B1 - Computer Science.
She authored over 40 publications in international journals and conferences with more than 400 citations, she serves as Associate Editor for international journals and has served and continues to serve as Guest Editor for several Special Issues and Workshops. She is a member of IEEE and the Italian Association for Research in Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Machine Learning (CVPL).
Her research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, deep learning, and biometrics, with a recent focus on the integration of post-quantum cryptography into intelligent systems.

The professor is available to receive the students at the end of the lessons. However, the students may also request an appointment by email.
