
Dr. Elisa Buzzatti graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 2016 with a grade of 110/110, disscussing a dissertation on the chemo-free combination of ATRA and arsenic trioxide in relapsed Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.
In 2022, she obtained a Specialization in Hematology (grade 50/50 with honors) with a dissertation focusing on the effect of steroid therapy on hypofibrinogenemia in BCR:ABL1-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Her clinical expertise includes: managing autologous and allogeneic transplant procedures, including bone marrow harvesting, diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute leukemia (myeloid and lymphoid), myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative diseases, with a particular focus on managing infectious complications.
Professionally, she worked in clinical research support, mainly in the field of acute myeloid and lymphoid leukemia, and currently works as a freelance hematologist at the S. Pietro FBF Hospital.
Dr. Buzzatti is actively involved in scientific research, focusing mainly on infectious complications in hematology (collaborating with the SEIFEM group) and on autoimmune thrombocytopenia (through the ITP-NET group).
She authored and co-authored over 32 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and regularly participates in national (SIE, SIES) and international (EHA, ASH) conferences, contributing posters and oral presentations on topics such as infections in hematological malignancies
