Mariacristina Mazzitelli is a Tenure-Track Researcher at the Department of Life Sciences, Health, and Health Professions at Link Campus University.
In 2015, she attained a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Naples “Federico II.” She then conducted research as a Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Texas, United States, where she was subsequently admitted to the Ph.D. program. In 2022, she became Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Sciences, with a specialization in Translational Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the same university. From 2022 to 2026, she conducted research as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience at TTUHSC in the United States. In 2026, she attained the National Academic Qualification for the position of Associate Professor in the competitive field 05/G1 — Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy.
Throughout her career, she has participated in several research projects funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has presented the results of her studies at national and international scientific conferences. She also serves as a reviewer and editor for international journals. During her period of stay in the United States, she received several awards that enabled her to participate in international training and professional development programs, as well as in scientific conferences of international significance.
Her research focuses primarily on the mechanisms underlying pain, with particular attention to the processes involved in the central nervous system.
