Since the 1996–97 academic year, he has held teaching positions in forensic medicine in Italy and abroad, in Bachelor’s Degree programs, Master’s Degree programs, postgraduate specialization programs, doctoral programs, and university and postgraduate programs.
As part of his teaching activity, he has consistently and intensively served as an advisor, tutor, and/or co-advisor in the preparation of dissertations for Bachelor's and Master's Degree, as well as dissertations for postgraduate specialization programs, doctoral programs, and academic masters, analyzing and discussing issues related to the various fields of application of forensic medicine.
He served as organizer and coordinator of several research groups. He authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers published in international and national journals.
He participated as a speaker and co-author in several scientific conferences and congresses, seminars, and training courses.
Participant and principal investigator in numerous research projects and study protocols.
Member of the Medical-Legal Advisory Board established by the Rome Medical Association.
Member of the Lazio Area 3 Regional Ethics Committee at the “A. Gemelli” Polyclinic;
In 2022 he served as a member of the Technical and Scientific Committee at the European Parliament (CTSE)
During the three-year periods 2005–2007 and 2008–2010, he was appointed, by resolution of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, as an expert member of the Supervisory Court of Rome.
He is registered on the register of court-appointed experts (CTU) of the Court of Rome and has been serving as an expert witness since 1993 at the Civil and Criminal Court of Rome and other district attorney’s offices and courts throughout Italy.
