Domenico Aprile is a researcher in Molecular Biology, an expert in cellular senescence, mitochondrial biology, mesenchymal stromal cells, and Muse (Multilineage-differentiating Stress-Enduring cells). After graduating with honors in Biological Sciences at the University of Naples Federico II and attaining a PhD in Experimental and Clinical Medical Sciences from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, he conducted international research at Tohoku University (Japan) as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow and at Kayseri University (Turkey) as a Visiting Researcher.

From 2023 to 2025, he was a Type A Fixed-Term Researcher (RTD-A) in Molecular Biology at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli,” where he taught Molecular Biology courses in the Bachelor's Degree programs in Medicine and Surgery and in the PhD program in Public Health.

His scientific activity focuses on the mechanisms of mitochondrial resilience, senescence, and cellular response to oxidative stress. He is actively involved in national and international research projects, including MNESYS (PNRR), MIRAMARE (EU-Pianoforte), ECLIPSE (INFN), and the TÜBİTAK project.
He is co-founder of the academic spin-off AMRITA Nutraceutics.

He authored several publications in indexed journals and a speaker at national and international conferences on cellular aging, mitochondrial biology, and regenerative medicine.
