Martina Placidi is tenure track researcher (RTT) in sector 05/BIOS-10/A – Cellular and Applied Biology at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions at Link Campus University. Her scientific activity focuses on reproductive biology, with particular interest in the redox, metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms involved in ovarian ageing, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and the toxicological effects of micro-nanoplastics.

She attained a PhD in Clinical Medicine and Public Health and her specialization in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology at the University of L'Aquila, where she conducted research on animal and cellular models, focusing on fertility preservation and the bioenergetic regulation of oocytes. He gained international experience at reproductive medicine centres in the study of ovarian metabolism and the role of NAD+ in reproductive ageing.

She authored several publications in indexed international scientific journals and speaker at national and international conferences, she is a member of the Italian Society of Embryology, Reproduction and Research (SIERR), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the Italian Association of General and Molecular Biology and Genetics (AIBG).
