Michele Giannotti

Michele Giannotti is Professor of Developmental and Educational Psychology at Link Campus University and a licensed clinical psychologist specialising in the assessment of attachment throughout the life cycle and in cognitive psychotherapy with a constructivist and evolutionary approach. 
With a PhD in Psychology and Educational Sciences, Prof. Giannotti has conducted research at the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences (Observation, Diagnosis and Training Laboratory) at the University of Trento and at the Attachment Assessment Laboratory at the University of Bologna. Furthermore, h collaborates with the National Health Service in the field of child protection in cases of child abuse and maltreatment. 
His clinical and research activity focuses on the study of parenting and child development, with particular attention to the determinants of parenting in different family configurations, fatherhood, co-parenting, the outcomes of child maltreatment, and the assessment of attachment across the life cycle. He has spent periods as a visiting scholar at various universities, including Roehampton University (London, UK), the University of Iowa (IA, USA), Yale University (CT, USA), and the University of Warsaw (Poland). 
He received awards such as Early Career Scholar from the International Association for the Study of Attachment (IASA) and Rising Star from the Italian Society of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (SITCC). 
Prof. Giannotti regularly presents his work at national and international conferences on Developmental Psychology and Clinical Psychology, as well as in educational contexts in the social and health care fields outside the university. He is Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Psychology – Psychology for Clinical Settings and collaborates as a reviewer for several international scientific journals.
He is also a member of several scientific associations and societies in the fields of clinical psychology, psychotherapy and perinatal psychology. He published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and participates in or coordinates national and international research projects dedicated to the study of parenting, psychotherapy, family processes and human development.
