Academic Collaboration
The Master was organized in collaboration with the Digital Dentistry Society ( Digital-Dentistry.org ) a leading international scientific society in digital technologies applied to dentistry.
All candidates who complete the required coursework and pass the final exam will receive a second-level Master in Digital Dentistry and Artificial Intelligence worth 60 credits (CFU).
Purposes
The purpose of the masteris to provide the candidates with the tools necessary for a proper diagnostic and treatment approach through the use of all modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
Students will be introduced to the modern approach to daily clinical practice, from diagnosis to implant-prosthetic rehabilitation, and will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the most advanced devices, learning how to use them correctly.
In short, the Master aims to teach students how to develop a proper diagnostic approach and formulate a treatment plan using modern digital technologies, laying the foundation for a contemporary approach to the profession.
Students will deepen their knowledge of digital devices and the use of artificial intelligence.
Future developments involving the use of augmented reality and robotics will also be addressed.
Target Students
Admission to the Master is subject to the acquisition of the following academic qualifications:
- Master’s degree and/or specialized degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics
- Master’s degree and/or specialized degree in Medicine and Surgery with a specialization in Dentistry or a license to practice dentistry
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery
The following may also apply:
- candidates holding an equivalent academic degree from a foreign university
- candidates with a foreign academic degree equivalent in duration and content
The University reserves the right to admit candidates with different qualifications that are relevant to the Master.
Educational Objectives
The educational objective is to develop specialized skills in the use of intraoral and facial scanners, CBCT, 3D printers, diagnostic and planning software, and the entire digital workflow.
The integration of artificial intelligence into clinical processes will be explored in depth.
Candidates will be able to practice their profession using the essential modern tools provided by the most advanced technologies available today.
Didactics
The Master, established pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004, lasts 12 months and requires a total of 1500 hours, divided as follows:
- In-person synchronous classes: to interact directly with the professors according to a scheduled calendar.
- Independent study and research activities: to independently explore and reinforce the content learned throughout the Master’s programme.
- Practical exercises and mid-term assessments: to evaluate learning progress and form part of the assessment process.
- Project work: to actively apply the content learned during the programme.
Qualification
The final exam consists in the preparation and defense of a project based on a real-world case study, to be presented in person before an exam board. Upon passing the exam, the candidate will attain the Master qualification.
Tuition Fee
The annual tuition for the registration to the Master is € 4.500,00.
