Purposes

The social and healthcare system is currently undergoing profound organizational and institutional changes, driven by the need to strengthen the integration between hospital care and local healthcare networks, improve the efficient use of resources, and address the population’s evolving health needs.

The I Level Master in Governance and Management of Health Services and Coordination Functions for Healthcare Professions aims to train professionals with managerial, organizational, interpersonal, and educational skills who are capable of working in complex healthcare settings and contributing to the development and management of healthcare services.

Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, the programme provides theoretical and practical tools for managing facilities, human resources, and care processes. The goal is to train professionals with coordination and middle management skills who are capable of interacting with the executive leadership of healthcare organizations and translating strategic guidelines into effective operational actions.

The learning pathway places particular emphasis on the development of transferable skills, such as leadership, conflict management, organizational communication, and working in multidisciplinary teams, which are considered essential for the coordination of healthcare services. 

 

Target Students and Admission Requirements

The Master in Governance and Management of Health Services and Coordination Functions for Healthcare Professions is aimed at candidates who have attained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the healthcare sectors (pursuant to Laws n. 42/1999, n. 251/2000, and n. 43/2006).

This programme is aimed at professionals working in healthcare organizations, hospitals, local healthcare services, and social and healthcare organizations who are interested in developing the skills needed to advance into roles involving coordination, organizational leadership, and management consulting.

This qualification meets the educational requirements for access to coordinating roles in the healthcare professions as provided for by Law n. 43/2006 and allows holders to apply for an exemption from the continuing medical education (CME) requirement, in accordance with current regulations.

Admission to the Academic Master requires a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields of study:

  • SNT/01 - nursing and obstetrics;
  • SNT/02 - rehabilitation professions;
  • SNT/03 - technical health professions;
  • SNT/04 - preventive health professions.

In addition, candidates who hold

  • a diploma as provided for in Article 1, paragraph 10, Law N. 1 of January 8, 2002, provided that the applicant holds a five-year upper secondary school diploma.
  • an academic title attained abroad that is comparable in duration and content to the Italian academic degree required for admission to an Academic Master. Registration, however, remains subject to the evaluation of the qualification’s suitability by the academic bodies solely for the purpose of enrolment.

The University reserves the right to admit candidates holding different bachelor’s degrees that are relevant to the curriculum of the Master in Governance and Management of Health Services and Coordination Functions for Healthcare Professions, upon submission of a letter of motivation supporting such a request.

The University reserves the right to admit students currently pursuing a degree in the healthcare professions (listed above), provided they obtain their qualifying degree by the November 2026 session.

Enrolment in the Academic Master is compatible with enrolment in another university programme, in accordance with Law n. 33 of April 12, 2022, and Ministerial Decree n.. 930 of July 29, 2022. 

 

Educational Objectives

The Master aims to develop advanced skills in the field of healthcare governance and coordination, enabling participants to:

  • analyze the organization and governance of health and social-healthcare systems, with particular reference to regional networks and models of care integration;
  • manage human, technological, and financial resources, optimizing work organization by process and ensuring the sustainability of services;
  • coordinate multidisciplinary teams, applying leadership styles appropriate to the context and promoting collaboration and the integration of skills;
  • apply programming, planning, and management control tools to support coordination decisions;
  • promote quality, safety, and continuity of care by using process and outcome indicators to support service improvement;
  • manage and evaluate organizational innovation processes in response to evolving health needs, taking into account the communication and relational dimensions relevant to the management of workgroups.

The annual tuition for the registration to the Master is € 4900,00

The master has a total duration of 1,500 hours, equivalent to 60 credits, divided into theoretical and professional training courses:

  • Lessons: synchronous online classes (22 CFU); asynchronous online classes (5 CFU)
  • Laboratories: 3 CFU
  • Project Work: 3 CFU
  • Internship: 20 CFU
  • Final exam (thesis): 7 CFU

Lessons are delivered in a blended format, with synchronous online activities. The laboratories and project works are conducted in person at Link Campus University.

The programme places particular emphasis on practical application through workshops and project-based work designed to develop operational skills.

The project-based work offers a highly valuable experience that allows participants to apply the knowledge they have acquired to real-world cases in healthcare and social-healthcare settings. With the guidance of expert instructors, participants strengthen their management, leadership, and innovation skills while building on their professional experience.

The programme is complemented by a professional internship at healthcare and social-healthcare facilities and concludes with a discussion.
