URBAN WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT  for AFRICA
Rome, Link Campus University
 22 January – 2 February 2018
Effective management of water resources is crucial for ensuring sustainable economic development. LCU aims to contribute in this field with Water Management School aiming to expand international cooperation and support local communities in Africa.
Link Campus University and SudgestAid, in collaboration with Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, organized an advanced training Course in “Urban Water Resources Management for Africa”.
The course is dedicated to increase the capabilities of Directors and Top-Officers of 8 African Countries, namely Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Cameroun, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe, in the field of urban integrated water resources management to drive change in water availability and use.
The larger goal of the Water Management School is to expand by 2030 the international cooperation and capacity-building support to developing countries in water- and sanitation-related activities and programmes, including water harvesting, desalination, water efficiency, wastewater treatment, recycling and reuse technologies. What’s more, the School commits itself to support and strengthen the participation of local communities in improving water and sanitation management in Africa. In this context, sharing the experience is crucial in search of sustainable “water governance” solutions.
